Trip cancellation insurance

With this insurance, you get reimbursed for expenses for unused services before or during the trip. It can be used in the event of illness or death of one of the travellers or a close relative requiring your presence, but also in case of a particular situation making it impossible for you to leave (dismissal of an insured person, burglary at home, critical event in your country of destination, etc.).

Depending on the expenses paid ahead of your trip, you can choose between 3 packages with different compensation limits per claim:
  • €1,000 / incident / insured person
    Maximum of €1,250 / insured person / year
  • €2,500 / incident / insured person
    Maximum of €3,000 / insured person / year
  • €5,000 / incident / insured person
    Maximum of €6,000 / insured person / year

Concretely, what does this mean?

For instance, if you get injured and are not able to leave, we will refund all your non-recoverable expenses ahead of your trip (flights, hotels, tours, etc.) up to the compensation limit you chose for each of the insured persons. An excess of 50€ is applied per incident and per insured person.

Accident insurance

This insurance enables you to claim compensation in the event of a serious accident leading to the disability or death of one of the insured persons.
The maximum amounts of compensation per insured person in case of an accident are:

  • Death
  • Total and irrevocable loss of sight of both eyes
  • Total and irrevocable loss of sight of one eye
  • Loss of two limbs
  • Loss of one limb
  • Total and irrevocable loss of sight of one eye and one limb
  • Permanent total disability (other than those listed above)

Baggage insurance

This insurance enables you to receive assistance and compensation if your belongings are delayed, stolen, lost or damaged.
The maximum amounts of compensation per insured person in case of an incident are:

  • Valuables (eyeglasses, contact lenses, watches, furs, jewellery, precious metals, audio and computer equipment)
  • Photo or video equipment
  • Mobile phone
  • Professional equipment
  • Sports equipment
  • Money (excluding cash, banknotes or foreign currency)
  • Money (cash, banknotes or foreign currency)
  • Unspecified items: per item
  • Delayed baggage
  • Emergency replacement of clothing, medication and toiletries


The following are not covered. If you would like further information or clarification, please contact us, , we will be happy to answer any questions.

  • Any disability, physical condition or illness that occurred before the start date of your insurance or before you signed the contract, until a period of one year has passed without your receiving treatment.
  • Any health condition for which you have already claimed compensation or requested an intervention during a previous trip.
  • Any circumstance which could reasonably be expected to lead to a claim at the start date of your coverage or when booking your trip (whichever was the latter of the two).
  • Pregnancy, birth and any subsequent medical complications if you are or will be seven or more months pregnant at any point during a trip.
  • Deliberate exposure to a major risk (unless in an attempt to save a life).
  • Sports or leisure activities with significant risks of physical injury, such as jet skiing, bungee jumping, quad biking, mountain climbing, etc.
  • Travel to countries against the advice of the Belgian government (red zones).
  • Legal expenses relating to proceedings against travel agents or family members.
  • This insurance policy does not cover any claim, fear or threat in any way caused by or resulting from coronavirus disease (COVID-19), nor from severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), nor any other mutation or variation of SARS-CoV-2 disease.

Eligibility rules

To be able to claim for compensation, you will be required to comply with the following rules. If you would like further information or clarification, please contact us, we will be happy to answer any questions.

  • You have not yet started your trip.
  • The length of your trip does not exceed the period you specified in the contract. depending on the coverage you have taken out.
  • High-risk activities are not covered (e.g. Jet skiing, diving, etc.).
  • You do not already have an  issue to claim for.
  • Travels in Belgium are covered provided you have booked accommodation for at least one night before beginning your trip.
  • You have never been refused kidnapping insurance in the past (to be eligible for coverage for intervention in case of a crisis event).
  • The insured persons are under 76 years old.

How to manage an incident

If an incident occurs during your holiday:

First of all, ensure you are safe and/or call the emergency services. If you have been a victim of theft, you need to go to the police and file a statement.

If the incident is not serious and does not require emergency assistance, you can file your claim online in 5 minutes.

* The following are considered to be serious incidents requiring emergency assistance: a medical or dental emergency during your stay abroad; search, rescue or repatriation of one of the insured persons; assistance further to a crisis event (assistance resulting from a critical event: natural disaster, terrorist incident, etc.); assistance in the event of a death.

You already have a travel insurance with another provider

You can take out your annual insurance policy today and specify a start date up to 3 months later. This means your Qover-me coverage can begin on the day after your current contract expires.

In all cases, don't forget to notify your insurer that you wish to cancel your policy at least 3 months before the renewal date of your contract.
