Repatriation, trip cancellation insurance... Does your bank card already provide the right coverage for your holiday? Better to double check.
Travel coverage may be included in your bank card benefits, depending on the card type and issuing bank. When you pay for your travel with your Visa Premier or Mastercard, you and your family (spouse and dependent children under 25) may - depending on the specified conditions - be covered by a repatriation insurance that includes coverage of some medical expenses, death/disability insurance and a number of assistance services. Several of these situations may also be covered by your health insurance.
However, it may not be easy to get your claim accepted as the conditions are usually stringent and coverage may be limited in your country of destination. Such coverage is “one size fits all” and may not match your needs. The same applies to airlines’ trip cancellation insurances, which are generally more expensive than separate policies.
To give you a better idea, here is a summary table of the main differences between the coverages you can get:
Please note: some countries require proof of travel insurance before issuing visas, e.g. China, Russia, Algeria, Cuba or Mongolia.
Qover-me offers you flexible coverage. You can design your own travel insurance coverage according to your profile and needs. You know what you’re paying for, under fair conditions and at a fair price. Just what you need for a carefree holiday!
